Welcome to The Hew Lorimer Trust website

The Hew Lorimer Trust was set up in 1996. It was initiated by Vincent Logan, Bishop of the Diocese of Dunkeld, which includes the City of Dundee, where some of Hew’s most important sculptures are situated. A group of trustees was formed, with the aim of ensuring the safekeeping of the sculptures at Kellie Castle, where Hew spent most of his working life, and the maintenance of his sculptures elsewhere. The first task of the Hew Lorimer Trust was to set up a permanent exhibition of Hew’s work. The Trust’s other main aims are:

The Permanent Exhibition is in the Stables Courtyard at Kellie Castle, Pittenweem, Fife. The house and gardens at Kellie are in the care of the National Trust for Scotland. The Permanent Exhibition may be visited at the usual opening hours and also by appointment with the Property Manager.

Our next project is to develop a website at this address. We are currently seeking funding for that purpose, and hope to launch the site in the autumn of 2006.

Our next event will be an afternoon concert at Kellie Castle on Saturday November 18th 2006. More news to follow.
